How To Improve Battery Life On The iPad

In this article we will give you a simple guide that will show you how to improve the battery life on your iPad. The reason I decided to write this article is because frequenting the forums I was a lot of people having problems with the battery life of the iPad.

Most people were complaining of having 100% battery and then leaving the iPad on for a few hours and seeing the battery has gone down all the way to 30%. Obviously if you are not using your iPad this is a very rapid decline of battery life.

Luckily this article will address the reason this happens.

NOTE: If you perform the steps in this article and your battery life is still going down quickly you will need to call Apple support.

How To Improve Battery Life On The iPad:

To save the battery all you need to do is double tap the Home button.

This is the main button at the bottom of your iPad. You need to press this twice fast.

You will then see a menu pop up at the bottom of the screen and this will have all of your recently used apps.

Now you need to rest your finger on the first app.

NOTE: You are not going to tap the first app; you need to actually rest your finger on it until it starts to wobble.

Once it starts to wobble you will see a red subtract sign at the top left of the app.

You then need to press this red subtract sign to delete the app. Delete ALL of them in the taskbar.

This will not delete the app from your iPad it will only delete it from this quick start bar.

Once they are all deleted and the taskbar is clear you will have much better battery life for your iPad.

Why Does This Work?

Every app that you use on the iPad will be put in this quick start taskbar by default. The problem is that if you are playing a lot of games and using a lot of different apps it will keep them running in the background.

If you have been playing a racing game for instance and then you go to use Safari to browse the web you may find that the racing game is running in the background and this is what drains the battery.

By following through the steps above you will be able to improve your iPad battery life with ease.

How to Transfer Apps and Songs From iPod Touch to iPad

You have some cool apps or favorite songs on iPod touch, and now you get the new iPad 2, you may want to transfer them from your iPod touch to the new iPad, and this step by step guide will show you how to do that with iTunes. This way works for both Windows system and Mac. It's easy to understand, even you are computer newbie can handle with it.

Transfer Apps from iPod touch to iPad

Step1. The first time you plug in your iPad to computer, iTunes will let you start the registration. Just follow iTunes's guide, it's easy to register iPad.

Step2. After you finish registration, unplug the iPad and plug in your iPod Touch and make sure you have it backed up and synced. Just right-click the iPod Touch in iTunes and click on Back Up. You will see the progress at the top of iTunes when you backup your iPod apps.

Step3. When the backup process has completed, go ahead and eject your iPod touch.

Step4. Now connect your iPad to computer, click on Apps, and check the box next to Sync Apps then the Sync Apps button.

Step5. And then you can select the apps you want to transfer from iPod touch to iPad and organize the pages.

Step6. When you have the apps you want select, click sync and wait while the process completes. The amount of time it takes will depend on the amount of apps you want to transfer. That's all. After it's done syncing up you should be good to go. Just disconnect it and start using your apps on the iPad.

Transfer Songs from iPod to iPad

If the iPod songs are also on your iTunes library, you just need to sync your iPad with the iTunes, the songs will be moved to your iPad automatically.

If you buy songs on iTunes app on iPod touch directly, you can connect your iPod to computer, and then click iTunes 'File -> transfer purchases' to copy the songs from your iPod back to computer, and then re-sync the songs to your iPad.

If the songs are not on your iTunes, and also the songs are not purchased from iTunes store, like CD ripped songs, website downloaded songs, etc. You can use iPod transfer to copy the songs from iPod to computer. It also has Mac version. I have scanned it with Norton protector, it's safe without any viruses and spyware.

1. Download and install the iPod Transfer, connect your iPod to computer, and then run the program. The iPod transfer will search the your iPod automatically; your iPod files (songs/movies/playlist/photos) will be shown in the list.

2. Select the songs you want to transfer and click the Export button.

3. After you click Export, it will pop up a window to let you choose where the songs you want to save. Select Export to iTunes and click OK, the program will start copying the songs, that's all. The iPod Transfer for Mac is similar with the windows version, so I'm not repeat the steps here, I'm sure you can handle with it.

For more tips about iPod, you can refer to this iPad FAQ and Guides.

Buy the aPad iRobot Or the iPad - The Choice Really Comes Down to Just the Price

Whenever we have options or a choice, there are always lots of things to consider. In this case, we have a choice between an iPad from apple or an aPad iRobot. Both tablet PC, both allowing us to surf the web and get online to watch our videos, both allowing our content to come with us wherever we are.

In many ways the aPad iRobot and the Apple iPad are the same. Slightly smaller screen size aside between the 7" aPad screen and the 9.7" both of the essentially let us do the exact same things, using a different operating system to accomplish the same tasks. The question always boils down to which one should I buy. And there are arguments for both sides. While I could spend days going over and giving the good and bad for each of the arguments I've researched, I won't. Instead I will compare and list the features that are present in both the aPad iRobot as well as the iPad.

Web Browsing:

Both of these can do it. The safari browser for iPad and Google's own web browser built into Android OS. If you're looking to do some reading of blogs, or checking the news, and responding to and working with your email. Both the aPad iRobot and the iPad will do the trick without any hassles.

Expandability:

This is where the iPad from Apple fails. Once you're iPad is full of content, you're done. You'll have to erase and selective pick what you want on there. The aPad uses regular microSD Cards, so you can just put in a new card and double your memory.

Games And Applications:

The iPad takes the cake in this regard, with hundreds of thousands of games and apps. But the aPad iRobot also has a huge selection of games and applications from the Android Marketplace. Essentially any Android App will work on the aPad, and the selection is nothing to laugh at. But you REALLY have to be into gaming in order to use this as your deal breaker. The biggest games are out for both systems, and as such, unless there is some very specific game you need to play, you're good with either the aPad iRobot or the iPad

Email:

Lets face it. Google is the king of email. So you're not going to be wanting for anything when it comes to doing your email on the aPad at all. It's responsive, has a built in email App for Gmail and naturally, you can set it up to use any email account you have. Much the the iPad. Even the aPad offers Gmail as one of the standard accounts in their mail app. The on screen keyboard is very responsive and I prefer the size of the aPad to be honest as it makes typing out my emails a whole lot easier while holding it in landscape mode.

Videos & Music:

The aPad iRobot has one click YouTube access. Click on the YouTube Icon and you're presented with YouTube and watching all of the videos you can handle. The world favorite time waster is fully functional and works great on the aPad. The Apple iPad also has a YouTube app. Built in and available out of the box. Both the aPad and the iPad can view HD Videos as well. MP3 is supported on both of the units too. With the aPad running Android OS media player, and the iPad running iTunes. Sound quality and volume is the same across the board.

eBooks:

Again, both units allow reading of eBooks. Apple's iBooks is definitely a fantastic application making the organization and purchasing of your eBooks a breeze. The aPad doesn't have the same App, but has a built in eBook reader available to download from the Android Marketplace. I prefer the screen on the iPad - as it's slightly bigger, but I prefer the price of the aPad - because it does the same thing.

The biggest argument FOR the aPad iRobot is the price. While you'll have to spend at least 0.00 to get your taste of tablet computer with an Apple iPad. You can get a feel for what it means to really use a tablet with the iRobot for less than half the price, with the entry model starting at only 9.00 I suggest spending less not because one of these products is better than the other, but because tablet computers in general are such a new product category that we really have to be sure we're able to use it, and that its functional for our own use. It's not like upgrading or getting a new desktop PC. We're accustomed to that form factor and how we use our desktop PC's.

My recommendation? Buy the aPad iRobot. If you like what you get out of a tablet PC, and still want to go for an Apple iPad, you can sell the aPad and get the iPad if that product will suit you better. But you'll have a chance to at least try out tablet computing and see if it works for your own lifestyle.
